How can I prevent Prophy-Jet nozzles from clogging?
Prophy-Jet air polishing nozzles should be thoroughly cleaned after each use with the cleaning wire supplied with the nozzle. Additional or replacement cleaning wires (part # 776030199) can be ordered from any authorized DENTSPLY dealer. Nozzles should be sterilized in accordance with the infection control directions provided. Avoid the use of chemical disinfectants and cold-sterile solutions. In the event that cleaning the nozzle with the wire toll is unsuccessful at removing a severe clog, the Prophy-Jet nozzle should be replaced. Submersion in vinegar, boiling water, enzymatic cleaner, or any chemical solution is NOT recommended.
