Which power settings are recommended for Slimline inserts? A power setting of MEDIUM to LOW is recommended for all DENTSPLY Cavitron Slimline inserts, and Cavitron FSI (focused-spray) inserts. Slimline inserts are designed with an ultra-thin tip for maximum subgingival access. FSI, or Focused Spray inserts are designed to deliver water through a small channel within the tip, which decreases aerolsol spray and improves clinician visibilty. DENTSPLY's patented FSI Slimline series of Cavitron inserts combines both features. Prolonged operation of Cavitron FSI or Slimline inserts at a high power setting may increase tip wear or risk fracturing the tip.
